July Monthly Dinner

Area 8 would like to invite you and your guests to the monthly dinner, July l9, 2008. Dinner will be prepared and served by Area 8. The menu will be tossed salad, grilled pork, scallop potatoes, green beans, apple sauce and rolls. Banana Split Cake for desert. The cost of the dinner is $l0.00.

You are also invited to bring your own beverage and join your neighbors and friends in a delightful evening. Please check the Doral bulletin board at the back of our clubhouse for the dinner sign up sheet and table selection. To complete your evening, your after-dinner entertainment will be "Just The Two of Us".

July Ladies’ Luncheon

My, how time flies, it is July and another month for the Ladies Luncheon. This month's the luncheon is on July 9th at 12:00 noon at "GRILLSMITHS" Fire On the Grill " located just south on US 19 at Countryside Blvd. , in Countryside Square Shopping Center , just across from Countryside Mall. Hope a lot of you come and enjoy. We always have such a good time. See you there

HAWAIIAN LUAU NIGHT - Friday, July 25, 6-10pm Tickets $5.00 Dinner of Chicken, rice, fruit, dessert & punch will be served and it BYOB. A wine, fruit and cheese basket will be raffled off along with a contest for the most original Luau outfit and a Hula contest will provide entertainment. Come join us for a night of fun, food & friends!!

July Pot Luck Supper

Potluck Supper will be on Monday, July 7th, at 6:00 p.m. Each person is asked to bring a dish to pass that serves eight. Suggestions include salad, meat, casserole, dessert, bread & butter. Please bring your own table service (disposable suggested) and drinks; we will have decaf coffee. Sign up at the clubhouse, and come and enjoy sharing a meal with your friends and neighbors. We will appreciate the assistance of any and all for set-up and clean-up chores.

Special Events Committee

July 4th Picnic.
Either the clubhouse or the annex-depends on the clubhouse. $5.00 per person includes hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw. Women's Club Cake Walk is also on the agenda so don't miss this one. Sign up sheet in the Clubhouse hallway. Anyone signing up to bring potato salad, baked beans or coleslaw is free admission. BYOB and join us for a good old fashioned July 4th!! All proceeds go to the Park Association.

2nd August in Saturday Party (usually 1st) combined with Fish Fry Dinner!! Saturday August 9th. $8.00 per person gets you a wonderful "all you can eat" cod fish dinner complete with french fries, coleslaw,
cornbread and dessert plus as a special bonus this year is entertainment for your dancing pleasure and fun by Jerry Brown with great music from the 50's to the 90's.

Women's Billiards

Come join us for a couple hours of fun and laughs at the Annex, Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. New shooters welcome, we guarantee you’ll get your whole weeks full of laughter. We may not be good but we have fun

Bunco

Come join the fun at the Annex every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Bunco is an easy-to-learn dice game that is being enjoyed by all who play! Just bring $1.00 and be ready to have a great time and you might win a nice prize…everyone is welcome

Red Hat Society

Hey Red Hatters I am home. Never so happy to be hot again. It is COLD in Colorado. It is to late to set up something for June. We can't get in the clubhouse so we will just get ready for Christmas in July. July 25th at the annex at 11:00am. There is a sign up sheet at the clubhouse in the hallway. Sign up is a must so that we know how many are coming. So will see you there and maybe for coffee before the end of June.

Travel News

Hello Doral Travelers! Our agent has arranged a 1 (one) day trip on FEBRUARY 7th, 2009 to the "GASPARILLA FESTIVAL" at the First Christian Church on Bayshore Dr., right on the parade route. This will include motor coach to and from, driver tip, lunch, seats right on Bayshore Dr. with - and here is the best part, bathroom facilities for all who attend with this trip. This is always a fear for all who go but now we have all the bases covered. If you "Snowbirds would care to go please send your checks made payable to "CAREFREE VACATIONS"FOR $69.00 PER PERSON, this is a great deal , just sit back and enjoy the ride, parade and lunch. These seats are limited and are first come first serve, but are refundable until December 10, 2008. Tickets are after that date are only transferable.

November 30th is our fun cruise to the western Caribbean. We will be sailing on the Carnival Legend. The cost is $599 pp per double occupancy for an inside, $699 pp per double occupancy. This cruise includes a $50 per cabin on board credit, cocktail party and other surprises.
